A harrowing duet of one-upmanship inspired by the life of Canadian William Hunt, better known the world over as The Great Farini (a death-defying wire-walker and unrivalled victorian era circus entrepreneur) and his nemesis on wire The Great Blondin from France.
Blondin was the first person to cross the Niagara Gorge and a young self-taught wire-walker (Farini) followed in his steps. Farini's crossing in 1859 spawned an intense, decades long rivalry between the two men which was legendary the world over, even though the two never met in real life.
In our world they do meet, and what follows is a harrowing dance of one-upmanship and an all out pursuit of excellence in the world of Victorian circus. In their ring, Farini and Blondin move through a duel of showmanship and a no-holds-barred competition of physical prowess and invention. Their super human-abilities are tested and their foibles revealed as they push each other to the brink in a bid for dominace.
